Terms and Conditions
Effective October 17, 2026
The short version
HazardPin is a private service run by Assured Law, not a government agency or an emergency service. Call 911 in an emergency. We work to get reported hazards fixed, but we can’t guarantee any repair.
Report truthfully and stay safe while you do. Reporting a hazard does not make you a client of Assured Law, and nothing here is legal advice.
1. About these terms
These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of hazardpin.com and the HazardPin service. HazardPin is owned and operated by Assured Law, 635 W Lake Mead Parkway, Henderson, Nevada 89015 (“HazardPin,” “we,” “us”).
By using the site, submitting a report, or responding to a notice, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use HazardPin.
2. What HazardPin does
HazardPin lets residents report safety hazards such as broken sidewalks, trip hazards, and damaged playground equipment. Our team reviews reports, checks them against applicable local codes, sends a notice to the party we believe is responsible, and posts status updates on a public map.
HazardPin is a private service. It is not a government agency, a code-enforcement office, or a court. Our notices are informational. They are not citations, fines, or legal judgments, and we have no power to order anyone to make a repair.
3. No guarantee of outcomes
We work to get hazards fixed, but we cannot guarantee that any hazard will be corrected, how quickly that will happen, or how a responsible party will respond. Whether and when a repair happens is up to the property owner, business, or public agency involved.
We decide in our own judgment which reports to verify, which to publish, and whether to send a notice. We may decline, close, or remove a report at any time, including one we cannot verify.
4. Not an emergency service
HazardPin is not an emergency service and does not monitor reports around the clock. If a condition poses an immediate danger to life or property, such as a downed power line, a gas leak, or a collapsing structure, call 911 first.
A hazard appearing on HazardPin, or its status, does not mean an area is safe or unsafe. Always use your own judgment around a reported hazard.
5. Reporting responsibly
When you submit a report, you agree that:
- the information you provide is truthful and accurate to the best of your knowledge, and is submitted in good faith;
- you will not trespass on private property, enter restricted areas, or put yourself or others at risk to observe or photograph a hazard;
- you will not use HazardPin to harass, threaten, or retaliate against anyone, or to report a hazard you know to be false; and
- you will not include other people’s private information, or identifiable images of people where avoidable, in your descriptions or photos.
6. Legal services and no attorney-client relationship
HazardPin is operated by Assured Law, a Nevada law firm. If you were injured by a hazard, Assured Law may be able to help you, but only if you ask.
- Using HazardPin, submitting a report, or sending us a message does not create an attorney-client relationship between you and Assured Law or any of its attorneys.
- An attorney-client relationship exists only after Assured Law agrees to represent you and you both sign a written engagement agreement.
- Nothing on this site, in our notices, or in our status updates is legal advice. Every situation is different. Do not act or refrain from acting based on information from HazardPin without speaking to a lawyer about your circumstances.
- Until you have a signed engagement agreement, do not send us confidential information about a legal claim, because it may not be protected as privileged.
- Legal deadlines, including statutes of limitations, apply to injury claims. Reporting a hazard to HazardPin does not preserve or extend any of them.
To ask about legal help, contact us at contact@hazardpin.com. Content on this site that describes Assured Law’s services may be considered attorney advertising.
7. Content you submit
You keep ownership of the photos and descriptions you submit. By submitting them, you give HazardPin and Assured Law a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide, perpetual license to use, copy, display, edit (for example, cropping or blurring), and share that content to operate the service. This includes publishing it on the public map, including it in notices to responsible parties, and using it in connection with any related legal matter.
You confirm that you took the photos yourself or have the right to share them. How we handle your personal details is described in our Privacy Policy; your name and contact details are never published.
8. Text message updates
HazardPin hazard report updates. When you report a hazard, you can choose to receive text messages about it. If you do, HazardPin will send automated texts to the mobile number you provide when your report is received and when its status changes. Message frequency varies, typically 2 to 5 messages per report. Consent to receive texts is not a condition of submitting a report.
Message and data rates may apply. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
To stop receiving texts, reply STOP to any message. You will receive one final message confirming you have been unsubscribed, and no further texts. For help, reply HELP or contact us at contact@hazardpin.com.
How we handle your mobile number is described in our Privacy Policy.
9. Property owners and responsible parties
If you received a HazardPin notice, it identifies a condition that a resident reported and that our team reviewed. It is not a finding of legal fault or liability. You can respond through the response page using the case number and access code printed on your notice, including to tell us the hazard has been fixed, a repair is scheduled, you are not the responsible party, or you dispute the report.
Information you submit in a response must be accurate. We review every response, and a response does not change a hazard’s status until our staff has reviewed it.
10. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- submit spam, automated reports, or content that is unlawful, defamatory, obscene, or infringes someone else’s rights;
- attempt to access accounts, case data, or systems you are not authorized to use, or to bypass our security or spam protection;
- scrape or bulk-download the site, or interfere with its operation; or
- impersonate another person or misrepresent your connection to a property or hazard.
11. Information provided as-is
Hazard reports come from members of the public, and statuses, locations, and descriptions may be incomplete, out of date, or wrong. HazardPin and its content are provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement, to the fullest extent the law allows.
We do not guarantee that the site will always be available or free of errors.
12. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, HazardPin, Assured Law, and their attorneys, employees, and agents are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any injury or loss caused by a hazard itself or by a responsible party’s action or inaction, arising from your use of HazardPin. This section does not limit any duty Assured Law owes to a client under a signed engagement agreement, or any liability that cannot be limited by law.
13. Your responsibility for misuse
If you submit a report or other content that is knowingly false, unlawful, or in violation of these Terms, you agree to be responsible for, and to reimburse HazardPin and Assured Law for, claims and costs (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) that result from it.
14. Removing content and access
We may edit, hide, or remove any report, photo, or response, and may block anyone from using HazardPin, at any time and for any reason, including a violation of these Terms. If you believe content on HazardPin is inaccurate or infringes your rights, contact us at contact@hazardpin.com and we will review it.
15. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Nevada, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of HazardPin will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Clark County, Nevada, and you consent to their jurisdiction. If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect.
16. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will change the effective date at the top of this page. Continuing to use HazardPin after an update means you accept the revised Terms.
