Privacy Policy
Effective October 17, 2026
The short version
You can report hazards anonymously. If you share your contact details, we use them to verify your report and keep you updated, and we never show them publicly or to the property owner.
HazardPin is run by Assured Law. We never sell your information or share it with data brokers. An attorney contacts you about legal help only if you ask.
1. Who we are
HazardPin (“HazardPin,” “we,” “us”) is a community hazard-reporting service owned and operated by Assured Law, 635 W Lake Mead Parkway, Henderson, Nevada 89015. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect through hazardpin.com, how we use it, and the choices you have.
By using HazardPin you also agree to our Terms and Conditions.
2. Information we collect
When you report a hazard. You can report completely anonymously. Every report includes:
- the hazard type, location, and description you provide;
- any photos you upload; and
- the date and time of the report, and the location category (City or public property, a commercial area, or a residential home).
If you choose to share them, we also collect:
- your name, email address, and phone number;
- how you would like to receive updates (email, text, or both); and
- a description of any injuries connected to the hazard. This is sensitive information, and we treat it with extra care (see Section 5).
Property owners and responsible parties. To notify the party responsible for a hazard, we obtain the property owner’s name and mailing address from public property records or through a property-data provider, and we may record an email address or phone number for them. If you respond to a notice through our response page, we collect what you submit there: your name, email, optional role and phone number, your message, and any photos.
When you contact us. If you email us or reply to a message we send, we keep that correspondence with the related case.
When you visit the site. Like most websites, our hosting and security providers automatically receive technical information such as your IP address, browser type, and the pages you request. We use a spam-protection check on our forms that evaluates your browser to tell people apart from automated bots. If you use the “find my location” feature on the map, your browser shares your approximate location only after you allow it, and we use it only to center the map.
3. How we use your information
We use the information we collect to:
- review and verify hazard reports against local safety codes;
- identify and notify the party responsible for fixing a hazard, including by email and by postal mail;
- display verified hazards on the public map and keep their status current;
- send you status updates on the channels you chose, and answer your messages;
- protect the service against spam, abuse, and fraudulent reports;
- comply with the law and respond to lawful requests; and
- offer you legal help, as described in the next section.
4. Assured Law and legal services
HazardPin is part of Assured Law, a Nevada law firm whose practice includes premises liability and personal injury. Because HazardPin and Assured Law are the same organization, information you give HazardPin is available to Assured Law. Sharing it within our own organization is not a sale of your information.
If you were hurt by a hazard, Assured Law may use your report and contact details to evaluate whether it can help you, but an attorney will contact you about legal services only if you ask us to, for example by contacting us at contact@hazardpin.com. Submitting a hazard report does not make you a client of Assured Law. See Section 6 of our Terms and Conditions for more.
5. What is shown publicly
The public map and the Track a Hazard page show each hazard’s type, location, location category, description, photos, status, and report date, along with staff notes we choose to make public.
We never publish a reporter’s name, email address, phone number, or injury description. Property owners do not see that information either, including on the notices we send them.
Because photos and descriptions are public, please don’t include people’s faces, license plates, or personal details in them. We may crop, blur, or remove content before publishing it.
7. Your choices
- Report anonymously. Contact details are always optional.
- Stop updates. Every automated email includes an unsubscribe link. To stop text messages, reply STOP to any text we send. You can also email us.
- Access, correct, or delete. Email contact@hazardpin.com to ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it. We may keep the hazard report itself, without your personal details, and we may keep records we are required to keep or need for an active legal matter.
- Nevada residents may submit a request directing us not to sell their covered information. We do not sell personal information, but you can still send that request to contact@hazardpin.com.
8. Text message updates
If you check the text message box when you report a hazard, HazardPin will send automated text messages to the mobile number you provide with status updates about the hazard you reported. Message frequency varies, typically 2 to 5 messages per report. Message and data rates may apply. Consent to receive texts is not a condition of submitting a report.
Reply STOP to any message to stop receiving texts, or HELP for help. You can also contact us at contact@hazardpin.com.
We do not share mobile phone numbers or text messaging opt-in information with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. We use your mobile number only to send the updates you asked for, and share it only with our text-messaging provider so it can deliver them.
10. How long we keep information, and security
We keep hazard reports and the communications connected to them for as long as the case is open and afterward as a record of the hazard’s history, since a report can matter later if someone is injured. We keep contact details only as long as we need them for these purposes or as the law requires, and you can ask us to delete them at any time (see Section 7).
We protect information with access controls that limit personal details to authorized staff, and encrypted connections. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
11. Children
HazardPin is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the effective date at the top of this page, and for significant changes we will post a notice on the site.
